Mansfield, OH, you will de velop innovative sensor processes based on advanced technologies to meet customer requirements. Conceptualizes new product processes and manufacturing methods in collaboration with customers, technology partners, and the overall product development team. Analyzes and communicates process and equipment design information between internal and external project stakeholders. Takes leadership action as a result of input from customers, sales, or management in order to meet customer needs or organizational objectives. Ensures that the product’s/processes functional and performance requirements as well as the applicable agency, quality, reliability, and manufacturability criteria. As a New Product Process Development Engineer, you will:
  • Manage engineering projects and provide technical guidance to others.
  • Develop products that are designed to meet or exceed customer, agency, and company requirements.
  • Generate all necessary product specifications and drawings, including the selection of materials, component tolerances, assembly specifications, and process flow charts.
  • Coordinate and report on work requested through the Engineering Project Request (EPR) system.
  • Approve and identify the routing of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Temporary Engineering Changes (TECs).
  • Evaluate and approve the requested product or part deviations from specifications.
  • Establish product reliability test programs and analyze and report on any non-conformance.
  • Provide necessary engineering documentation for cost estimates.
  • Support Manufacturing, Sales, and Marketing on related product design issues.
  • Coordinate the build of any special parts or products for sample orders.
  • Participate in internal quality audits on assigned products.
  • Evaluate, test, and approve any material productivity changes.
  • Participate in new product development or product line extension activities, as required.
  • Identify and provide technical support for cost reduction programs, productivity improvements, and vendor approvals.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are communicated to and complied with by all employees, including employment, safety, employee relations, equal opportunity, and all other company-sponsored programs (for managers of people only).
  • Maintain awareness of technology developments in assigned product areas or markets.
  • Participate in customer visits by providing presentations on program updates and technical design reviews.
  • Assist in the analysis of field returns to determine causes and resolve problems.
  • Be responsible for understanding and following all company rules and safe work practices.
  • Immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions, or accidents to your supervisor.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline, with a minimum of six (6) years of experience in product/part design and project management
  • Experience with 3D modeling and part design
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, or equivalent productivity suites, currently in use by the company
  • Analytical and conceptual ability
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:
  • Eight (8) years of experience in product/part design and project management
  • Six Sigma Green Belt level
