The iVillage Associate is a member of the interdisciplinary group who works under the supervision of a registered nurse or therapist and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs and to promote comfort. The iVillage Associate is responsible for observing the patient, reporting and documenting these observations and performing care in accordance with company standards and federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.Care ManagementProvides psychosocial support and personal care to the patient, including bathing (tub, shower, sponge, or bed bath), oral hygiene, hair care, shampooing, shaving, skin care, nail care, foot care, and dressing.

Assists patients to self-administer-medications. Verbally prompt or assist patients to respond to electronic medication reminder systems.

Provides homemaking services, such as bed making, light housework, laundering, and errand running with patient/family’s agreement or accompanying patient to medical appointments as specified on Care Plan.

Drives patients to and from appointments or other activities in company owned/leased vehicles, in accordance with the organization’s driving policy.

Provides pet care/pet sitting including walking, feeding, changing litter boxes. Provides plant care while patient is away from home.

Provides mail delivery when appropriate.

Administration and ReportingObserves, reports, and uses electronic medical record to document patient status and the care or service furnished.

All other duties as assigned.EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent required.

Must pass the organization’s written proficiency examination and skills test.

Successful completion of the nurse aide competency evaluation program conducted by the Ohio department of health or the Medicare competency evaluation program for home health aides without a twenty-four month lapse in employment.

ExperienceOne year experience as a home health aide in a Medicare-certified home health or hospice agency preferred.

Knowledgeable of home health aide practices and procedures preferred.

Other RequirementsMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Must be insurable under professional liability and crime coverage policies as specified by insurance carrier underwriting standards.
