Open Source Researcher / Chinese Language Information Specialist
Location: Dayton, OH (on-site)
Salary Range: $50k-$60k + benefits
KeyLogic is seeking an Open Source Researcher who is proficient in English and at least near fluent in reading and writing Chinese to provide research and fulfill information management needs for a technical library in Dayton, Ohio.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Conduct foreign language database searches and discover information to support both generalized and targeted research needs
Acquire English and foreign language material, including books, serial publications, and digital data sets
Seek out new open source scientific, technical, political, and cultural publications or information sources in a variety of formats and compile results into reports according to guidelines
Establish and maintain contacts with publishers, institutes, and other publication sources worldwide
Develop and manage collections of library materials in a variety of formats
Interact with customers to assist with English language and foreign language research requests, carefully discerning the relevance and usefulness of discovered information
Coordinate with library staff on long term project design and implementation
Perform other duties as assigned, such as serials management and order tracking
Requirements :
Must be a US citizen
Must possess a bachelor's degree or higher in any subject
Proficient in English and at least near fluent in reading and writing Chinese. Familiar with Chinese social and cultural contexts. Tertiary language skills a plus.
Possess flexible self-starter qualities and innovativeness in approach to tasks
Possess tenacity in the face of challenging, long-term tasks
Demonstrable proficiency in manipulation of digital data and data formats
Former work experience in information technology, libraries and/or research is highly valued
Excellent web searching skills and proficiency in office productivity software (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
Skilled in organizing resources and establishing prioritization of tasks
Ability to balance and toggle between multiple projects
Maintain diplomatic and professional relations with coworkers and others
Able to work in a small, non-traditional library environment
