Full Time - Scheduled for 40 Weekly Hours

Overview: The EMS Supervisor plans, directs, conducts and evaluates daily operational activities of the EMS department.POSITION SUMMARY :

Assures adequate staffing and optimum utilization of personnel, interviews, hires, and directs departmental personnel, ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies.

Maintains membership in county EMS and 911 review boards and facilitates interdepartmental cooperation with other emergency services, police and fire departments.

The EMS Supervisor provides assistance to nursing personnel in the Emergency Department and other departments as needed.

The EMS Supervisor responds to routine transport requests and emergency 911 calls.

Renders care to infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

The EMS Supervisor assists the Manager of Emergency Services in day-to-day operation of Emergency Department, including and not limited to ensuring adequate staffing and optimum utilization of personnel, directing departmental personnel, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies.

The EMS Supervisor will promote the institution's philosophy, mission, and values during all interactions with patients, families, staff and others.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

High school education or equivalency (Required)

Graduate of an accredited Paramedic program with a current State of Ohio license (Required)

Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications (Required)

Valid drivers license with a driving record which permits insurability under the hospital's insurance coverage (Required)

Paramedic instructor (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE:

Six years as a field paramedic and Emergency Department experience is preferred.

EMT Instructor preferred.

A minimum of three years of supervisory experience is preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge and competence in all aspects of emergency pre-hospital care is required.

Practical experience in the care and use of emergency equipment commonly accepted and employed in the rendering of basic emergency care.

Familiarity of the service area is required.
