Job Family: People & OrganizationReq ID: 327868Position Overview:The Payroll Specialist is responsible for proactive collaboration with customer and key internal business partners. This role requires some independent thinking and actions in handling the payroll processing. They must understand the pay practices of any payroll. Working knowledge of the union contracts and specific pay policies of the organizations being paid. Knowledge of state legal requirements, pay regulations and overtime compliance. Knowledge of banking processes for US and Canada, reconciliations, and pay card funding. Prepare and request third party vendor payments. Ability to accurately process tax adjustments, W-2s, W-2cs.Responsibilities:This position is responsible for the processing of standard and specialized payrolls for the multiple Siemens Operating Companies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Maintain appropriate payroll records and data for the calculation of payroll for multiple entities
US and Canada banking processes: reversals, returns, stop payments and reconciliation
US and Canada direct deposit and positive pay files reconciliation and transmission thru Finavigate
ADP check printing job generation and transmission
Casual workers : payroll support, includes garnishments and GL support
Assist with Payroll Escalations for missing pay
Use CAPA-s in evaluating issues and assist in developing corrective actions
Apply documented rules, past practices, or instructions on an independent level
Effectively identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to resolve
Assist in the review of current payroll processes to identify areas of process improvements and standardization
Respond to standard and semi-complex payroll related inquiries from customers or employees
Assist in the preparation and distribution of various payroll reports and record audits to customers and management
Provide high level of customer support and ensure positive customer interactions
Work in a team environment coordinating with other team members in the processing of payroll
Maintain compliance with all payroll related regulatory and Siemens requirements including effective internal controls
Required Knowledge/Skills Education and Experience:Associate degree or other combination of education and equivalent experience will be considered
CPP/FPC certification a plus
5+ years of experience in all aspects of payroll with multi-state and high volume
Solid understanding of payroll knowledge and principles
Understanding of payroll processing within a shared services environment
Excellent attention to details and analytical skills
Solid time management skills, ability to prioritize assignments in a dynamic work environment
Proficient computer, organizational, research and problem-solving skills
Ability to meet critical deadlines, manage priorities and workflow, and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
Self-starter with ability to adapt to changing business needs
Ability to work in and contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Excellent customer service orientation and interpersonal skills with the ability to forge productive relationships with customers, payroll team and cross-functional teams
Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to learn new things
Advanced Excel level, proficient with all Office applications
Experience with Oracle HCM Cloud or ERP systems highly preferred
