Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal / Systems Administrator to maintain and enhance Linux Systems and Infrastructure in support of the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong technical skills to achieve high availability, security, and integrity for the operating environment. They should have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This System Administrator will be an active part of a team of System, Network, and Storage Administrators who collaborate to support a large development infrastructure that replicates a wide variety of customer environments to include Linux, Windows, and Solaris environments. The team manages the hardware, software, network, security, and end user support for a wide range of tools and infrastructure. This environment includes ever growing opportunities with modernization such as Cloud technologies and DevOps CI/CD pipelines.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below. Basic Qualifications for a Linux Systems Administrator:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with 3 Years related experience or Master's degree with 1 Year relevant experience or a High school diploma or GED equivalent with 7 Years relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
  • U.S. citizenship
  • 1 Year Linux System Administration
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Strong Troubleshooting and Problem Solving Skills
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Linux System Administrator:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with 6 Years related experience or Master's degree with 3 Years relevant experience or a High school diploma with 9 Years relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
  • U.S. citizenship
  • 3 Years Linux System Administration
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Strong Troubleshooting and Problem Solving Skills
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active CompTIA CASP+ or Security+ certification
  • Linux Administration Certifications
  • Experience with the following:
    • Virtualization/VMWare
    • Ansible
    • Kubernetes/Docker
    • Bash, Python, or other Scripting
    • Linux Security Hardening
    • Storage Administration
    • LDAP/Kerberos Administration
    • Information Assurance Compliance / Risk Management Framework (RMF)

Salary Range: $68,100 USD - $102,100 USD

Salary Range 2: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
