Job Description

JOB TITLE:

Production Scheduler

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Scheduling Manager, this vital position will be responsible for the tracking, planning, and execution of orders for all window manufacturing facilities in line with Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning as well as plant capacity guidelines.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Ensure high service levels through factory scheduling.
  • Review sales data, new customer data, new product introductions, product promotions and various other sales/marketing activities to ensure production needs are met while taking into consideration plant capacity constraints.
  • Develop effective scheduling process to achieve production objectives.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Manager to plan and coordinate production schedules daily for all 5 window manufacturing plants.
  • Review rush requests from customers, approve / deny based on capacity and lead time.
  • Adjust system capacities to drive volume to plant / lines
  • Shift volume between plants, when orders exceed capacity.
  • Adjust load dates in the system for approved rushes.
  • Generate various reports daily that summarize build date compliance, daily incoming orders and open production.
  • Coordinate with Manager to develop and execute production plan in line with Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning tools.
  • Work with various disciplines to develop potential solutions to improve production performance.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Finance to develop and maintain scheduling parameters.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Applicable experience in manufacturing operations, planning, and replenishment planning
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in high volume, high complexity manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with order, shipment, billing software
  • Experience in Microsoft Office software with advanced skills in Excel and Access. SQL is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of the organization
  • High motivation, assertiveness, flexibility and adaptability to change
