JOB DESCRIPTIONIf you are a

PROJECT ENGINEER looking for a growth opportunity, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our

Sidney, OH location, this position within in the Refrigeration transportation group is responsible for leading projects focused on new product development, customer support, and advance technology. Projects related to cost reductions and plant support are also possible. This position allows the individual to work closely with customers and internal cross-functional teams to release new products and support existing products in the transportation refrigeration and air-conditioning markets.

As a Project Engineer, you will:
  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute technical projects on time.
  • Drive technical schedules and develop contingency plans.
  • Proficiently execute DFMEA to drive qualification plans.
  • Ensure performance and reliability of products through analysis, testing and collaboration with other groups such as reliability, manufacturing, quality and supplier quality.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to develop designs and release new and modified products.
  • Lead structured problem-solving method to determine root cause and corrective actions to issues.
  • Perform analytical calculations in areas of thermodynamics, heat transfer and machine design to aid development.
  • Work as a team with lab technicians to setup and monitor testing.
  • Lead technical discussions with key customers and internal team members.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • A desire to solve problems.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • 3-7 years of engineering experience
  • Experience leading cross functional teams
  • Experience with compressors or other rotating machinery
  • Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, machine design, heat transfer
  • Experience leading DFMEA
