Job Description

Principal Accountabilities:

Develop fully integrated P6 schedules, including resource loading and leveling, for project/outage execution teams based on work scope from work packages and planners' work list.

  • Ensure schedulers follow sound techniques and best practices to update progress, baseline schedules, maintain schedules, track metrics, and support project teams.
  • Train and mentor client schedulers in Planning and Scheduling within P6. Lead schedulers meetings to share lessons learned, process revisions, and provide technical training.
  • Administer the earned value management system and collaborate with project controls and project management teams.
  • Assist schedulers in organizing and conducting schedule meetings, including estimating, planning, scheduling, and updating of projects/outages.
  • Maintain Project (or Outage) Scheduling Handbooks or Procedures, ensuring schedulers adhere to the guidelines and standardize reports across the program when applicable.
  • Prepare and analyze metrics reports, providing accurate summary-level status reports as requested.
  • Develop and analyze schedule risk, providing risk assessments and mitigation actions as required.
  • Create "what if" schedules to address various scenarios and options.
  • Crash project/outage schedule durations when necessary.
  • Act as a substitute for project/outage schedulers as needed.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with project/outage schedules.
  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure understanding and adherence to the integrated project/outage schedule and scheduling requirements.
  • Assign security, profiles, and roles for new P6 users.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree with relevant experience.
  • Experience in scheduling in Transmission, Substation, Construction, or Engineering preferred.
  • Knowledge of utility-specific operations and work processes.
  • Proficiency in Primavera Project Planner Enterprise (P6) or Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively.
  • PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Availability for occasional travel and temporary relocation as required.
  • Ability to perform light physical duties at various work sites.
