Railroad Off-Track Spray Technician

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is looking for a motivated and skilled Railroad Off-Track Spray Technician with a strong work ethic, excellent attitude, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety. This role involves spraying and/or cutting railroad crossings to specifications, as well as spraying off-track areas within railroad yards around material piles, buildings, access roads, and other locations.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Fill truck with water/chemical mixture.Perform minor weed eating using an industrial weed eater and occasional chainsaw work (minimum 16” bar), about 25% of the time each day.Pull out and return 300-500 feet of hose multiple times to spray the length of crossings; typically, this is done 32 times per day.Spray 8 to 10 railroad crossings daily.Drive the truck and spray 8 to 10 crossings each day.Call MTM for the daily job briefing.Complete required paperwork at the end of each day.Perform other duties as assigned.Technical Skills:Basic knowledge of weed, grass, and brush species.In-depth understanding of the chemicals used, their effects, and associated safety protocols.Basic knowledge of application methods and equipment.Understanding of calibration and spray patterns.Other duties as assigned.
