Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.Summary:Plans for, delivers, and documents nursing care of patients who receive care in the ED (Emergency Department); review required and appropriate documentation and initiate inpatient bed assignment. Floats to the assigned inpatient area during the admission/discharge process and assesses the patient’s needs in conformance with approved and recognized nursing standards of care, recognized nursing techniques and procedures, and administrative policy. Reviews and processes patient discharges to facilitate and expedite timely bed availability for incoming patients Observe, assess, document, and report on the condition of patients.Qualifications:Qualifications:

Required:

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Currently registered nurse licensure in the State of Ohio

Thorough knowledge of nursing theory and practice, including basic knowledge relating to

Nursing, such as biological, physical, psychosocial, and medical sciences and their applications

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Thorough knowledge of the theory and principles of medical asepsis

Ability to maintain positive working relations with other employees and medical staff

Ability to interact effectively with various cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Preferred:

May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.

May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.

Ability to communicate face-to-face, via phone, email, and other communications.

Ability to read patient records, reports, etc.
