Job DescriptionHuntington Ingalls Industries(HII) is seeking for a highly motivated Research Engineer/Scientist to contribute to our on-going R&D efforts in the field of Trusted and Secured Microelectronics. All modern defense weapons are inherently reliant on microelectronic devices and embedded systems for their operation. Assurance of the security and trustworthiness of microelectronic devices, Integrated Circuits (ICs), and the Intellectual Property (IP) they host is vital to the continued technical superiority of Air Force (AF) weapon systems. The candidate will be helping our customers to provide innovative solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities for various microelectronics and embedded systems. This position is located at the Air Force Research Laboratory Sensors Directorate, Trusted Electronics Branch, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate exhibits excellent communication skills, is eager to learn, and is excited to work in a multi-disciplinary team working in a laboratory environment. As a collaborative member of the Trusted Electronics Branch, the candidate will contribute to the various efforts in IC vulnerability assessments and reverse engineering research using novel assessment techniques including but not limited to printed circuit board prototype development, electrical testing, IC delayering, image analysis, second order effects (2OE) tool assessment, modelling and simulation etc. The candidate should keep up-to-date with relevant scientific and technical developments related to current and future microelectronics vulnerability research and provide data analysis, and generation of reports and presentations to convey progress and results. The candidate will also have opportunities to participate in seminars and workshops, and document results through presentations and journal publications.Minimum Qualifications- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance
- Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Computer Science, Engineering or related field of study
- Bachelor's degree with understanding of microelectronics field
- Secret Clearance
- Master's degree in science/engineering field with experience in microelectronics research
