Summary:The Director of Revenue Cycle serves as the strategic leader providing business insight on all aspects of Revenue Cycle Services and is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the efficiency and effectiveness of revenue cycle operations. The Director of Revenue Cycle supports the Company by providing a deep understanding of the medical revenue cycle process from beginning to end and all billing rules and regulations. This is a key role in the organization that is central to the success of the business office and company goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all revenue cycle functions including billing, precertification, coding, credentialing, charge entry, accounts receivable, cash collections, cash posting operations and accurate and timely claims submission
  • Designs and executes key strategies to drive collection of appropriate reimbursement
  • Monitors and ensures billing compliance with external regulatory agencies and law such as HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid and other third-party payers and institutional policies
  • Directs, manages, and supports employees daily work activities and development; undertakes the following employment actions: hiring, termination, training, corrective action, and performance reviews
  • Ensures that customer satisfaction is achieved through courteous and effective communication, problem solving and efficient processes
  • Consistently drive best practices in Revenue Cycle Management operations to achieve:
  • Improve administrative processes to increase cash flow, reduce Outstanding (DSO), and improve billing accuracy to minimize payor rejections or denials
  • Drive technology and operational improvements that will reduce administrative costs in the Revenue Cycle operations
  • Maintain effective working relationships with clinic operations, employees, insurance carriers, corporate, regional and Revenue Management staff

Skillsets Required:
  • Thorough understanding of medical billing, collections and payment posting, revenue cycle, third party payers, Medicare; strong knowledge of Ohio and Federal payer regulations
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral and effectively communicate with physicians, patients, insurers, colleagues, and staff
  • Working knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes, HCFA 1500, UB04 claim forms, HIPAA, billing and insurance regulations, medical terminology, insurance benefits and appeal processes
  • Knowledge of business management and basic accounting principles to direct the billing and coding department
  • Up to date with health information technologies and applications
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, patients, organizations, and the public
  • Skill in developing, implementing, and administering work processes
