Roofing Contractor Hiring Roofers & Roofing Laborers

Our workload is going to be very high this Summer and Fall and our current staff levels will not be able to handle it. Most of the work will be on commercial projects and we are willing to help to train the right people.

Job Duties of a Commercial Roofer

Roof Installation

Install various types of commercial roofing systems (e.g., TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, metal, built-up roofs).

Lay roofing materials such as shingles, asphalt, or metal panels.

Roof Inspection

Conduct inspections to assess the condition of existing roofs.

Identify problems like leaks, damaged shingles, or underlying structural issues.

Roof Repair & Maintenance

Repair damaged roofs by replacing or patching materials.

Perform preventative maintenance to extend roof life and prevent leaks.

Surface Preparation

Clean and prepare roof surfaces before installation or repairs.

Remove old roofing material, debris, and other obstructions.

Waterproofing & Sealing

Apply waterproofing compounds and sealants to prevent water penetration.

Ensure all flashing, drains, and joints are properly sealed.

Safety Compliance

Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines while working at heights.

Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection systems correctly.

Use of Tools & Equipment

Operate hand tools (hammers, roofing knives, screw guns).

Use power tools and heavy machinery (e.g., tar kettles, roofing hoists, nail guns).

Blueprint & Specification Reading

Interpret blueprints, specifications, and job orders for roofing plans.

Ensure work is performed according to client requirements and building codes.

Team Collaboration

Work as part of a roofing crew to complete projects efficiently.

Communicate effectively with supervisors, contractors, and team members.

Weatherproofing & Insulation

Install insulation and vapor barriers.

Ensure roofing systems are energy efficient and meet thermal requirements.

Our Requirements:

6+ months of experience in commercial/residential construction work

Must be at least 18 years of age

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent

Possess a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation

Must be reliable and able to show up to work on time

Have experience working with hand tools, power tool
