Job Title: Security Architect

Location: Onsite (a company based in Columbus, Ohio)Contract: 2 Years

Summary: Vernovis is currently partnering with a multi-billion-dollar utilities organization in the Midwest to place a Security Architect. This resource will lead the security components of major enterprise initiatives and create long-term strategic architectural standards.If interested, please contact Nate at Nburton@vernovis.com

Responsibilities
  • Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements
  • Designing, building, and implementing enterprise-class security systems for a production environment
  • Researching and identifying new technologies to improve system/data confidentiality, integrity, and availability
  • Understanding future business growth needs and determining the impact and risk to the organization’s cyber security posture
  • Publishing and effectively using Security Architecture standards, frameworks, patterns and procedures
  • Analyzing technical risks and advising on risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensuring that the organization's data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls
  • Promoting and fostering collaboration and standardization across multiple internal technology groups based on common technology interests and priorities
  • Working collaboratively with IT departments, service providers and local, state, and federal agencies during Incident Response operations
  • Building and managing relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to effectively socialize and incorporate secure architectural design

Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in information security
  • Demonstrated ability to identify risks associated with business processes, operations, information security programs, and technology projects
  • TOGAF certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of NIST, CIP, NERC, FERC, and other industry security standards and frameworks
  • Experience in maintaining SIEM, SOAR, EDR, CASB, NDR, UEBA, and other Threat Detection and Response Technologies
  • Experience with designing and developing security architectures for IT, OT, IOT, SCADA, and cloud/hybrid-based environments
  • Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce security measures
  • Strong leadership, project, and team-building skills, including the ability to lead teams and drive projects and initiatives in multiple departments
  • Exceptional communication skills with diverse audiences
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
