Job Description:

This position is located in Columbus, Ohio but may be eligible for remote home based as long as selected candidate is within AEP's current operating territory (WV, VA, TN, AR, KY, TX, OH, IN, MI, OK, LA)

Understand the fundamentals of a variety of platforms: Active Directory, directory segmentation, AIX/Linux, RACF, Oracle Database and OpenLDAP.

Understand and maintain identity management overarching workflows

Understanding of IAM tools operational and functional abilities and how they are deployed across the network.

Responsible for short or medium-term assignments of moderate complexity and/or budgetary, strategic, or operational impacts. Responsibilities include decision making, risk assessment, task prioritization/assignment/tracking, project assignment, employee development, performance feedback, motivation, team building, communication, planning, resource allocation, cost control, problem/issue/conflict resolution, customer service, and client relations. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan, receives guidance and oversight from senior manager., The Security Mgr is responsible for directly managing and developing Security team members, building and sustaining collaborative relationships with Operating Company, Business Unit, and Information Technology (IT) management, and with external partners, suppliers and vendors, and managing annual O&M and capital budgets. The Manager is expected to gain acceptance as a peer and equal partner when working directly with Operating Company, Business Unit, and IT management., The Security Mgr will promote and apply Security solutions to meet the needs and align with the strategies of our Operating Company and Business Unit customers. He/she will lead the team to complete projects/tasks/initiatives and perform all Security work activities via efficient processes, risk reduction, and effective use of resources., The Security Mgr will establish and maintain an open and collaborative environment that promotes safety, accountability, engagement and continuous improvement within and throughout the Security organization., The significant difference between the Security Mgr roles will be the size of the project or the scope of the process led, the level of risk and complexity involved, the breadth of potential benefit/impact on the department, organization or enterprise, the number of individuals supervised, and the grade levels of those supervised. Build and foster strategic business relationships and represent the Security organization when collaborating with Operating Company, Business Unit, IT leaders. Provide safety & security leadership and compliance without exception; enhance a strong safety & security culture. Promote a winning culture that is actively engaged, mutually supportive and high-performance oriented. Provide corporate compliance leadership and accountability for Physical and Cyber Security, NERC CIP, Ethics, Corporate Policies, etc., without exception. Provide financial leadership, including strategic forecasting and planning; establish and manage departmental O&M and capital budgets in coordination with the Operating Company or business unit. Develop competent teams and future AEP leaders; coach and guide employees, and provide opportunities for career growth. Provide training opportunities for employees to learn and share knowledge, strengthen skills, and deepen and broaden technical and professional capabilities; ensure that all employees are well-trained, knowledgeable, enabled and focused on the success of the company. Prioritize and direct area work activities, and optimize utilization of resources.

Requirements

Security Mgr. (SG9):

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree,
  • Or Associate degree combined with a minimum of 2 years of applicable business/technical experience in Security (Cyber and/or Physical), Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field;
  • OR a HS diploma/GED combined with a minimum of 4 years of applicable business/technical experience preferably in Security (Cyber and/or Physical), Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience:
  • 8 or more years of Security (Physical and/or Cyber), business administration, computer science, or other technical experience, demonstrating steady progression in responsibilities including 0-3 years of direct supervision experience preferred (in addition to any experience identified above).

Security Mgr. (SG10):

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree;
  • Or Associate degree combined with a minimum of 2 years of applicable business/technical experience in Security (Cyber and/or Physical), Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field;
  • OR a HS diploma/GED combined with a minimum of 4 years of applicable business/technical experience preferably in Security (Cyber and/or Physical), Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience:
  • 10 or more years of Security (Physical and/or Cyber), business administration, computer science, or other technical experience, demonstrating steady progression in responsibilities including 4 or more years of direct supervision experience preferred (in addition to any experience identified above).
Additional Preferred Requirements:
  • Understand and refine a Role Based Security framework
  • Develop roadmaps and participate in the standards process for Identity and Access management (IAM) solutions
  • Development of performance metrics/measurements for the user access attestations
  • Experience in identity and access management processes, controls and communications related to Policies/Roles/SSO across stakeholder groups
  • License/Certifications Preferred - CIAM, CIMP, CIST, or CISSP
