This is a full-time position and your shifts will vary, but most likely be second or third shift.At Cleveland Clinic, we know what matters most. Performs proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
Investigates and manages all security incidents and hazards on the premises.
Maintains knowledge/follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans.
Facilitates planned drills and simulations.
Provides information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote their safety on the premises.
Other duties as assigned.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Certifications:
Completion of Ohio Peace Officer Training Council's (OPOTC) Private Security Training Course and certification (minimum 140 hours).
Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license (VDL) and maintain eligibility of insurability to operate the organizations' vehicles.
Complexity of Work:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
Minimum of one year prior related experience in the field of criminal justice; private, public, or military security, and/or related law enforcement fields.
Completion of Ohio Peace Officer Training (police) Academy and certification may be substituted for the above experience.
Physical Requirements:
Typical physical demands require full body motion, physical strength and stamina sufficient to chase, apprehend and subdue criminal suspects, and respond to crisis interventions and medical emergencies.
Requires extensive walking and standing for prolonged periods of time.
Requires valid drivers license.
Must have good eye/hand coordination and able to pass annual eye (with appropriate corrections) and hearing tests.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
