Description We are offering an opportunity for a contract to hire Risk Manager based in Columbus, Ohio. This role involves working closely with various business segments to identify key risks and controls, as well as developing and conducting control testing. The Risk Manager will also assist in the administration of the corporate risk management program and help foster a risk-aware culture in the business segment. Role is for a large financial services organization. Role will work a hybrid schedule with some days remote and some days in the office in Columbus, OH.Responsibilities Perform risk and control self-assessments and ensure the timely completion of all testing requirements in accordance with guidelines. Develop, maintain, and continually enhance a proactive operational and regulatory risk management program and related initiatives. Assist in the administration of the corporate risk management program. Work with identified business segments to identify key risks and controls, develop effective internal control processes, and conduct testing of those controls. Develop and update best practice documentation to support best-in-class risk assessment and control evaluation/substantiation activities. Oversee and ensure the administration of operational and regulatory risk strategy programs for an identified business segment. Deliver timely escalation of all issues requiring attention to senior management. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business line management through continuous and proactive communications. Deliver timely and pertinent analysis to Senior Risk Manager on testing results, highlighting areas requiring attention and activities which are inconsistent with business line policies and procedures.Requirements Proven experience in a Risk Manager role or similar position Proficient in designing and implementing risk management processes and policies Excellent knowledge of risk assessment and control Strong understanding of industry compliance regulations and legal requirements Ability to manage and support office functions effectively Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrable experience in managing stakeholders and partners Strong ability to plan, execute, and validate plans Proficient in auditing, ensuring compliance, and managing internal controls Experience in Human Resources (HR) administration is a plus Ability to support workstation needs Proficient in Business Process Functions Demonstrable critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to create and manage documentation and procedures Proficient in using risk management software and tools Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Strong leadership and project management skills Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field is preferred Professional Risk Manager (PRM) certification is a plus.
