Let us be the best place you'll ever work.POSITION OVERVIEWThe Senior Buyer helps to develop and then execute a profitable buying strategy that saves money from a total cost of ownership perspective and ensures quality goods and services are supplied to meet the needs of internal and external customers.Responsible for executing buying strategies developed by Belron and Safelite leadership. Will oversee supplier-related activities and their performance to ensure that they're meeting and complying with agreed terms and conditions of sale. Duties include relationship management, supplier selection, negotiations, analysis and contracts. Works closely interdepartmentally across the home office, with emphasis in the areas of materials management, finance, accounts payable, and the operations teams.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Sourcing - Acts as project manager for strategic sourcing activities by collaborating with stakeholders for assigned areas to define scope requirements, strategy. Leads, participates, recommends and implements projects. Leads market research for assigned areas to recommend potential suppliers - 35%Cost Negotiation/Analytics - Gather data and perform total cost of ownership analysis and use approach with negotiations, leads sourcing initiatives to reduce cost/improve performance - 35%Legal Contracts /Performance Management/negotiation - provides mark ups, edit's, and suggestions for legal team to review, takes active role in supplier performance reviews where applicable - 15%Operational procurement - Defines and supports level 1 to ensure compliance of transactional processes that support the team, department and organization (e.g. Purchase orders, price files) - 5%Mentor Assistant Buyer and Buyers within the organization. - 5%Other duties as assigned - 5%ATTRIBUTES / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience High school degree or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred 5 - 7 years of purchasing, buying or negotiation experience requiredRequired Qualifications Sourcing - using strong qualitative and quantitative skills, has the ability to find and qualify an appropriate supplier based on business need with limited guidance Ability to perform the cost management and analysis of impact, and works independently to negotiate with limited coaching and guidance Experience with RFI and RFP, MSA, SOW Understands legal and industry contract terms and demonstrates the ability to recognize when legal partnership is needed; ability to red-line documents Ability to read and interpret a P&L statement Strong project management skills, including the ability to design power point presentations that influence and tell the story Acts as a strategic partner to the business Identifies areas of opportunity, is solution focused and appropriately communicates to senior leadershipInternal Associates: Already a member of the Safelite team?
