Are you a knowledgeable and energetic UX champion passionate about connecting with audiences through compelling content? Fed Communities is looking for a Senior Content Strategist with the communications skill of a storyteller and technical aptitude of a product manager to support and scale our digital content. The Senior Content Strategist maintains our website and helps to execute the content strategy for Fed Communities, from ideation through production and beyond. Day-to-day, this means web production within WordPress, HubSpot and other tools, light coding, conducting SEO research, and proposing ways to optimize content to ensure it is findable, useful, and usable, serving audience needs and business goals. They will define content goals and measure content success against those objectives, working with editorial and marketing to ensure creative and messaging are consistent and on-brand.

The Senior Content Strategist works individually and collaboratively with developers, writers, editors, marketers, and subject matter experts to shape content experiences that drive reach, reputation, and engagement across various digital platform and traditional outlets. Our ideal team member is highly familiar with WordPress, its block editor, and how its capabilities are evolving; HTML and CSS; writing for the web; UX; web accessibility; schema; data visualization, and SEO. They are comfortable using web analytics tools and user testing to measure content success against targets and then make recommendations for optimization. They are comfortable adapting content for different channels and will happily write for web and social channels as needed. Job Description
  • Manages day to day web production for Fed Communities
  • Leads the development, planning, coordination, and execution of the Fed Communities content strategy across all digital channels.
  • Maintains a consistent voice, look and feel across Fed Communities' communications and digital channels.
  • Plans how web content is managed, maintained, and measured throughout the lifecycle. Channels may consist of print, web, mobile, social media, as well as the digital content aspects of events.
  • Delivers expert-level ongoing support, including user experience design, content production, design standards, analytics, adaptive content for responsive design, and optimizing content's effectiveness.
  • Provides expert-level evaluation of content effectiveness, including designing web analytics requirements, conducting comprehensive data analyses, and recommending improvements or shifts in long-term content strategies.
  • Serves as a lead consultant for new content programs.
  • Identifies clear and effective processes to manage web content and actively monitors the Fed Communities website.
  • Defines policies, standards, and guidelines for content creation, maintenance and governance.
  • Serves as expert advisor to cross-functional teams and drives continuous improvement and/or strategic initiatives to advance the effectiveness of digital content.
  • Provides technical guidance and mentoring in standardizing content formats to adapt to the broadest possible array of technical platforms, devising and configuring measurement strategies, and establishing information design guidelines for the presentation of data and indicators in many digital formats.
  • Participates in Federal Reserve System and Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland workgroups that share best practices.
  • Participates in professional organizations to keep abreast of emerging trends.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Adheres to Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland attendance policies through regular and prompt attendance.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, technology or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in content strategy, web design, user experience and web analytics across multiple platforms and digital channels.

Knowledge Areas
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of marketing communications, including social and traditional media, web, publications, and digital media
  • Knowledge of and the ability to work within/develop an agile work environment utilizing Scrum methodologies
  • Possess the communication skill of a journalist combined with the technical aptitude of a product manager
  • Project management
  • Understands user experience and usability, including SEO, schema, accessibility (Section 508 compliance), writing for the web, and how to meet user needs with content

Employees typically sit most of the day, work with a computer and may answer/respond to phone calls. Physical movement consists of walking for meetings, breaks, etc.

Ability to lift items weighing approximately 20 pounds on a limited basis is required. Employees may be required to travel by car/air.
