Based in our SIDNEY, OHIO location, you will work in the advanced manufacturing engineering (AME) department playing a key role in supporting assembly and scroll machining projects and processes to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives. The role is an integral part of the development and integration of new gaging and inspection technologies. You will interface with employees at all levels across multiples site of the organization and serve as a Quality Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME). You will be a key point of contact, providing both programming and technical support for a wide variety of gaging systems including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other high-precision, high-accuracy gaging systems. You will research and monitor manufacturing industry trends and deploy relevant technology in our global HVACR Technologies plants. AS A SR. / LEAD QUALITY ENGINEER – ADVANCED MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING, YOU WILL: Coordinate and manage quality systems related projects and participate in cross-functional teams to design, procure, and qualify equipment and processes while maintaining project schedules and budget

Perform quality systems installations, qualifications, capability studies, and gauge R&R's for assembly and machining processes.

Perform part inspection system programming utilizing both manual programming methods as well as utilizing 3D CAD models to generate programs in the simulated virtual environment.

Lead and participate in the identification, design, development, and implementation of new gaging methodologies and processes with a focus on improved accuracy, reliability, and reduced cost

Provide training to other technical personnel of inspection systems and provide technical support in resolving issues that affect production.

Self-initiate corrective actions for quality concerns based on effective problem-solving skills and develop temporary and permanent solutions to manufacturing issues

Comply with all required safety and regulatory requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Degree in Engineering Discipline (preferably Mechanical/ Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering) plus 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment or (10+) years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree

Ability to simultaneously drive/execute multiple quality systems projects as well as support production needs as needed (up to 25% travel)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to apply creative thinking to solve complex problems.

Must be able to interpret technical drawings with a thorough understanding of GD&T

Theoretical and practical understanding of SPC and experience making data-driven decisions

Proven computer skills including MS Words, Excel, and PowerPoint.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Excellent collaboration skills to interact with multiple levels of the organization

Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and its methodologies

Understanding of machining and assembly processes

Experience in PC-DMIS/MODUS CMM programming

Use of 2D/3D CAD programs (AutoCAD, NX, or equivalent)

Experience integrating quality systems in automated closed feedback loop systems.

Experience in database analytics reporting tools (Tableau, Q-Das, Power BI, etc.)

This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm.
