Overview

GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a

Senior Network Engineer in one of the following locations:

Spring Grove, PA / Stevens Point, WI / Chillicothe, OH The Senior Network Engineer leads complex projects involving the planning, design, installation, and level 3 technical support of LAN/WAN data, voice and video information technology solutions with a focus on but not limited to security architecture design, strategies and compliance. The Sr. Network Engineer responsibilities are to configure and implement security and internet platforms, local and wide area networks along with management and associated diagnostic tools to support new and existing technology architectures. The Sr. Network Engineer makes decisions independently on Information Systems solutions, problems and methods. The knowledge and expertise required at this level of work usually results from progressive work experience in enterprise environments. This position leads the other team members on day-to-day tasks and responsibilities in order to complete projects on schedule and to ensure daily operations of the network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the activities of the other server team members acting as a mentor and guide to less experienced team members
  • Leads the planning, evaluation, testing, selection, implementation and level 3 support of:
    • On Premise & Cloud network environments
    • Firewall architectures that include Palo Alto firewalls
    • Deploying and supporting VPN - Site to Site, clientless and client based
    • Proxy/web filtering solutions
    • Endpoint identity management (NAC/ISE),
    • IDS/IPS systems.
    • Deep understanding of AAA, TACACS+ and Radius protocols
    • Experience with routing protocols - BGP, OSFP and EIGRP
    • Internet Connectivity
    • Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN)
    • Network Management and Diagnostic tools
  • Leads the development of long-term strategic, capacity and performance planning objectives and goals.
  • Participates in network infrastructure security audit activities and provides evidence as required.
  • Leads network infrastructure security remediation activities.
  • Coordinates efforts to isolate and resolve network and security related issues.
  • Participates in IT and corporate-led initiatives.
  • Researches new technology and evaluates viability to meet or exceed business requirements and goals

Minimum Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
Experience
  • 7 to 10 years of planning, design, and implementation experience in network security and networking in a large enterprise retail environment.
  • In-depth working knowledge of at least 5 of the following network related platforms: Firewalls, routers, LAN switches, load balancing systems, remote access systems, network management and capacity planning systems.
  • Experience in leading other team members, working collaboratively with other teams, and driving for results.
Working knowledge of the following:
  • Threat and vulnerability management and remediation
  • IP addressing
  • OSI model
  • Ethernet
  • CISCO Nexus 9k/7k/5k/2k, 4500, 3850, 3560, 2960 switches
  • Firewalls -Palo Alto 3020 and CISCO Firepower
  • CISCO Wireless Access Points
  • SolarWinds, Zscaler, Citrix Netscaler
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certificate or above preferred
  • CompTIA networking certification preferred
