Job Number: 810 The Fighters and Advanced Aircraft, Special Programs Division develops, tests, and rapidly fields classified Air Force aeronautical capabilities. AFLCMC/WAG conducts studies to identify new capabilities; transitions laboratory technologies to operational platforms; executes demonstrations; and develops, tests, and rapidly fields new capabilities for the warfighter. You will be providing bold and innovative computer engineering solutions on multiple programs by working with labs, test organizations, operational users, prime contractors, and subcontractors. All positions at Riverside Research require U.S. Citizenship In this role, you will:- Develop software and computer engineering strategies in support of the acquisition, development, and sustainment of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment
- Assess the interfaces and interaction of a computer system's software, firmware, and hardware. Includes real-time operating systems and embedded processing for mission or safety applications.
- Actively participate in software-centric technical reviews and transitioning efforts from traditional methodologies to Agile and continuous delivery
- Design workflows and production processes for software capabilities
- Translate user requirements into system requirements
- Conduct assessments of DoD contractor software deliveries for aircraft / test equipment
- Analyze software performance deficiencies; make recommendations for corrective action
- Audit DoD contractors for software configuration and control measures and verify appropriate quality accreditation
- Evaluate contractor proposed design changes and solutions, perform systems analyses and technological/trade-off study assessments
- Review the system design software architecture and interoperability requirements
- Evaluate system test plans for software and participate in the conduct of system, subsystem, and component testing; review and analyze test data; make recommendations
- Assess communication bus architectures, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), and firmware & hardware layer development
- Support development and review of program and contract documentation
- Conduct technical evaluations of contractor proposals
- Current TOP SECRET security clearance with Background Investigation within the last six years or on Continuous Evaluation. Eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with 12 years of relevant DoD, Aerospace, or Defense industry work experience or Master's Degree with 10 years of relevant work experience (will consider less years of experience)
- In-depth knowledge of DoD acquisition software and computer engineering support to include software design, integration, configuration, test/evaluation, and certification
- Current knowledge of software development methodology and tools to include Agile and continuous delivery
- Experienced with operating systems, software languages, computer hardware platforms
- Experience in integrating DoD cybersecurity considerations into software architectures
- Master's Degree in an engineering related field
- Special Access Program or SCI experience
