Senior Staff Technical Program Manager - Control Tower - Remote Opportunity (
Job Number: 2300989 ) Senior Staff Technology Program Manager - Control Tower Position Summary: The Sr. Staff Technology Program Manager is responsible for the overall direction, planning, coordination of activities, monitoring tasks through completion, and budgeting for programs and large enterprise projects. This individual is to ensure that the goals or objectives of programs and projects are accomplished on schedule, on budget, and with quality results that meet or exceed customer expectations. Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to stakeholder communication, resource alignment, requirements definition, solution design, testing, implementation, status reporting, issue and risk management, and managing effective relationships between the customer, IT, and third-party vendors through program closure. This position will be the liaison between the customer, the vendor, and IT when delivering the solution. This position will require the management of enterprise programs, which may include multiple major or minor projects and multiple cross-functional teams in a single program, simultaneously while coordinating resources across the company and third-party vendors to effectively deliver the solution. The position will require this individual to champion, support, mentor, and drive improvement within the Penske Program Management Methodology and supporting tools. This individual will demonstrate strong leadership skills and proven strengths in creating, implementing, and managing change, with a focus on satisfying customer needs. Major Responsibilities: Program Management- Manage multiple programs that align with approved business initiatives.
- Manage multiple enterprise-wide projects, which can include both Major or Minor projects simultaneously, starting from initiation through plan, execution, and close that involve multiple cross-functional teams.
- Effectively communicate the program status, scope changes, issues, and risks to leadership.
- Monitor all program activity, budget, and resources to ensure the program remains on schedule and within budget and that no rework will be required.
- Establish clear expectations with the project team and stakeholders. Ensure proper documentation and sign-off process.
- Lead application road mapping exercises.
- Maintain accurate information in the standard project tracking tools and accurate project documentation.
- Manage IT implementation, including user training, roll-out plan, user feedback, and resolutions.
- Manage sustainment plan, including post-launch monitoring, adoption/success metrics, issue management, and resolutions.
- Facilitate effective meetings by planning and being prepared.
- Identify process improvement opportunities that will eliminate defective processes and introduce better control inputs and changes.
- Promote a high customer service approach and attitude.
- Manage programs and projects effectively to ensure that the customer objectives are achieved with quality results.
- Improve internal customer relationships (with mid-level to senior managers).
- Improve relationships with the project team, peers, external vendors, and management.

- Demonstrate advanced experience using Sprint Planning Tools (Microsoft DevOps, JIRA) and the standard Microsoft Office tools.
- Communicate technical concepts in a clear, concise manner.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new tools, technology, or best practices to improve project performance and the standard process.
- Perform complex problem and data analysis to determine the root cause and recommend alternative solutions.
- Develop standard reports to track, monitor, and measure overall program performance (scope, schedule, issues, cost, risks, and quality).
- Structure, prepare and deliver effective presentations to peers and management.
- Recommend policies and procedures for the standard process and tools.
- Recommend process changes and controls based on analysis results to improve the standard process and tools.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or Engineering
- 10 years of proven experience in logistics/supply chain large-scale projects and program management.
- 15 years of relevant experience in supply chain systems. Control tower and freight management systems experience is preferred.
- Completed project management training and certifications.
- Six Sigma/Lean Green Belt or Black Belt Certification is preferred.
- Formal training or advanced knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle or Application Development Lifecycle, methodologies, and standards.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, assignments, and priorities simultaneously.
