Job Number: 811 The Fighters and Advanced Aircraft, Special Programs Division develops, tests, and rapidly fields classified Air Force aeronautical capabilities. AFLCMC/WAG conducts studies to identify new capabilities; transitions laboratory technologies to operational platforms; executes demonstrations; and develops, tests, and rapidly fields new capabilities for the warfighter. You will be providing bold and innovative engineering solutions by working with labs, test organizations, operational users, prime contractors, and subcontractors. All positions at Riverside Research require U.S. Citizenship In this role, you will:

  • Utilize your systems engineering expertise in research, design, development, integration, test, and sustainment of aircraft subsystems equipment and software
  • Translate user requirements into system requirements, including allocation and verification in system requirement documents
  • Using mechanical and electrical engineering experience, evaluate Contractor proposed design changes and solutions, perform systems analyses and technological/trade-off study assessments
  • Analyze equipment and software performance deficiencies and make recommendations for corrective actions
  • Support review and evaluation of weapon system and subsystem design, integration, analyses, and verification
  • Support test planning working groups, technical interchanges, lab and flight test events, and day-to-day interactions between test, intelligence, and technology organizations
  • Support development and review of the full range of program and contract documentation
  • Apply systems engineering approach in building entrance and exit criteria for significant technical reviews.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of contractor proposals
  • Perform technical risk assessments and develop mitigation plans

To be successful in this role, you will have a:

  • Current TOP SECRET security clearance with Background Investigation within the last six years or on Continuous Evaluation. Eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 12 years of relevant DoD work experience or Master's Degree with 10 years of relevant DoD work experience (will consider less years of experience on case-by-case basis)
  • In-depth knowledge of DoD acquisition engineering support

Additional desired experience and skills:
  • Master's Degree in an engineering related field
  • Five years in DoD acquisition programs as either a sub-system or system engineer
  • Electronic warfare engineering experience
  • Three years of Special Access Program or SCI experience within the last five years
