Our Columbus, Ohio client has a contract-to-hire opening for a

Senior

System Administrator who will be implementing special projects as well as day to day support of the business network and systems. Your work will vary from day to day, and week to week. As part of a small team, this is an opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of IT infrastructure activities and technologies from design through implementation and support. The business and members depend upon the client's IT systems and solutions and this role plays a key role in that.

Immediate needs pertain to the following products/skill sets:

  • Microsoft InTune: experience setting up a Microsoft InTune environment and using it to rollout 3rd party apps to laptops, join laptops to domains, push updates to laptops, etc.
  • Microsoft Windows Server: experience with DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Backups, Recovery and updates on Windows Server versions 2012 through 2022.
  • Microsoft Office 365: experience rolling out all Office 365 apps, configuring security settings, backups, Teams, Outlook, Multifactor Authentication.
  • VMWare ESXi: experience with VMWare virtual machines, backups, restores.
  • General networking and firewall experience.
  • Some exposure to Microsoft Azure from a systems administration perspective.
  • Willingness to work onsite 50% of the week to support desktop users and anything needed in the server room. The other 50% of the week can be remote work.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively with the outsourced help desk and application development teams in ensuring the maintenance and uptime of critical business applications, databases, and integrations. This position may require after hours or weekend support on an as needed basis.
  • Provide technical analysis for client applications, equipment and processes. Lead and/or participate in technical projects as assigned
  • Design, support and administer Active Directory Structure
  • Design, support and administer a hybrid on-prem Exchange and Office365 environment
  • Setting up, monitoring and performing maintenance on systems (physical and virtual); maintenance to include regular patching and upgrades to servers, systems, laptops, smart boards and other equipment.
  • Backup monitoring and maintenance
  • Manage, support, and administer LAN/WAN
  • Ensure adherence to information security best practices, identify vulnerabilities, and implement mitigations
  • Respond to and monitor Tier 2 help desk activity to drive a high level of customer service
  • Database and application maintenance and support
  • System integration maintenance and support
  • SharePoint Administration
  • VoIP Phone System Maintenance
  • Support additional products and technology as needed
  • Automate repetitive IT tasks as appropriate
  • Maintain checklists and support documentation
  • Research solutions and make recommendations to support projects and objectives

Required Competencies: Technical design and support for:
  • Microsoft AD (on-prem and Azure)
  • Office365 Administration
  • Exchange Administration (Hybrid)
  • Windows Server
  • VMWare
  • VSAN
  • Desktop Imaging tools and techniques, such as InTune
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure devices such as routers, switches, controllers, wireless access points, and firewalls.
  • Knowledge of network security architectures and network protocols.
  • Ability to research and recommend technology solutions
  • Ability to work within a budget
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization from end users to executive management to members
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to execute projects from start to finish with minimal supervision

Required Education & Experience:

  • BS Degree in an Information Technology discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience as a systems administrator or equivalent role
  • Experience including planning, design, development, implementation, and user training for large-scale projects.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of state-of-the-art data/word processing, Internet/Intranet, and telecommunication systems, as well as network (LAN, WAN) design and implementation.
  • Full working knowledge and experience administering SharePoint Online.
  • Experience related to implementation and testing of a Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan.
  • Demonstrated experience in Cloud Architecture, including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. Experience in Agile Methodology. Experience in Microsoft Office 365, exchange online hybrid configurations and Windows 10 operating system deployments.
  • The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Microsoft Systems Administration including Office365, Azure, as well as on-prem solutions. We are also looking for subject matter knowledge in networking and industry best practices around security.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast paced, highly Agile environment.
