The Material Handler is responsible for the movement of material throughout the site.  This may include loading/unloading of trailers and movement of raw materials, work in process, and finished goods.Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:Essential functions may include, but are not limited to: Move material to/from raw, WIP, Finishing, Receiving, and Manufacturing areas.Unload/load trucks/tankers with incoming/outgoing materials. - Verify materials against receiving/shipping documents.Complete appropriate transactions to document the movement of material within the Inventory Management System.Support inventory accuracy:Complete warehouse and departmental cycles counts and correct discrepanciesHelp manage winding drum and rack inventoriesRaw/Finishing warehouse:Pick up and transfer material racks, pallets, and other consumable supplies to/from production areas as required.Condense warehouse space and maintain good housekeepingPerform all assignments, duties, and tasks in a safe manner following standard procedures and practices. Encourage others to do so. Correct and/or report all unsafe conditions immediately.Perform duties to continuously improve quality and productivity.Maintain a safe, clean work area.Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed.Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate department/shift employees to ensure effective operations.Lead in the recycling of pallets, cardboard, and scrap materials.Support all 5S housekeeping activities.Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
