OverviewJob Title:Social Services AssistantExempt/Nonexempt:NonexemptCorps, Institution or Department:Warren, OHReports To: Corps OfficerGENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB.Assisting in the daily social service operations of The Salvation ArmyResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.1. Responsible for all food services to clients including:Processing clients for social service assistanceProviding food and other supplies to clients with proper identificationPacking pantry bags and lunch bags daily2. Maintain a clean, well-stocked and organized pantry (including refrigerator, freezer, shelves and table)3. Assist with placing orders with the Second Harvest Food Bank4. Receive food truck deliveries and put away inventory5. Update client information in SA Inform and Pantry Trak databases6. Setup appointments with clients and assist them with funding for rent and utilities when available7. Distribute diapers through the Diaper Bank Program and input data into social services8. Record all gifts in kind (GIK)9. Serve as a referral service for clients seeking resources that may not be available at The Salvation Army10. Answer and return phone calls11. File, print, scan, fax, type and file various documents12. Maintain a clean, net, and orderly office space and work area(s)13. Assist with Christmas applications for clients, assist in packing food baskets and Angel Tree gifts, Christmas Intake, in addition to recording data of Sam’s Club and Walmart Angel Tree Toys14. Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the Corp OfficersQualificationsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:NoneMINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.1. Basic knowledge of computer skills.2. Compliance of keeping to a schedule.3. Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team atmosphere.4. Flexibility and patience, compassion for people.5. Must be able to lift 50lbs.6.
