Software Developer, SeniorThe Challenge:Are you looking for an opportunity to build a powerhouse system that will impact national security and the procurement of advanced weapon systems? You know a good digital simulation is more than just a nice-looking interface + data. You need the right combination of clean code, APIs, analytics, and infrastructure to build a user focused solution. As a software engineer, you'll solve a problem with a complete end-to-end solution in a fast-paced, agile environment. We're looking for someone like you with the skills and experience to build and expand digital combat warfare simulations from vision to production-ready system.As a software engineer on our team, you'll lead a small team of developers working directly with simulation analysts to overcome their most difficult challenges using the latest architectural approaches alongside open source frameworks and tools. You'll use your passion to learn new tools and techniques, identify and implement system improvements, and mentor teammates. Using Agile development, GitHub and C, you'll build digital warfare simulations used to assess the effectiveness and survivability of current and future DoD weapon systems. You'll analyze the needs and the environment to make sure the solution you're developing considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements.Work with us as we build systems to change Air Force combat modeling and simulation for the better.Join us. - Experience with developing core code enhancements and plug-ins for the AFSIM framework in C
- Experience using Git
- Knowledge of Linux computing environment
- Knowledge of algorithms and data structures
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working in a mixed classification environment
- Experience building and debugging on Windows and Linux environment
- Experience developing tools or mission-level models of combat warfare systems
- Experience using CMake
- Experience developing utilities to post-process AFSIM model output using tools including Matlab, Python, Bash scripts
- Experience using Sphinx software documentation tool
- Ability to translate warfare analyst requirements into software framework development needs
- TS/SCI clearance
