This position follows a Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Job Description

  • Cognitive Technical Lead

    As a virtual assistant (VA) / cognitive developer lead you will be an established partner to our enterprise customers and a lead SME on AI projects. You will work on the Virtual Assistant Center of Excellence (IVA CoE) team to lead and guide MIS crews in how best to handle new development initiatives to ensure integrations and implementation requirements are met to the highest standard. Your SME role requires expertise and knowledge for ensuring that development teams are following solid design and development best practices using the latest features and relevant shared reusable bots enabling speed to market.

    Responsibilities:

  • Guide MIS teams on VA project initiatives for design, development, testing, and implementation of VA solutions
  • Contribute to a complex code base with well-defined internal and external APIs.
  • Assist in delivering large scale AI projects for employee and customer facing use cases and guiding MIS teams.
  • Interact with internal 'customers' to enable them to understand the platform capabilities and implementation details.
  • Create well engineered, well tested and well documented reusable virtual assistant components or bot tasks for reuse by other MIS teams.
  • Perform quality stage gate reviews for ensuring teams are following best practices for design, development, performance management and overall functionality.
  • Work on evaluating and implementing reusable components using latest features in the platform.
  • Develop scripts that assist engineers in searching for log errors across multiple server components to streamline monitoring and project enhancements.
  • Work with enterprise customers to gather requirements and feedback on implementations to improve service quality and business value.
  • Provide engineers with architecture designs and guidance to implement use cases.
  • Qualifications:

  • Experience in a major vertical: Financial, Professional Services, Technology Services
  • Experience in Java/JavaScript and/or related technologies, jQuery, Backbone, Underscore, Redis / CouchDB / MongoDB, Web Sockets
  • Experience building integrations using SoA, REST API, SOAP services
  • Basic understanding of Linux/Unix platforms
  • Application of machine learning algorithms and techniques for natural language processing
  • Sound knowledge in Syntax and Semantic processing using statistical methodologies and/or Chat script
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems via the application of solution/design thinking
  • Ability to manage daily work efforts and risk via exceptions and thoughtful escalations
  • End-to-end technical experience in design, engineering, testing, dev ops, support
  • Demonstrated Leadership Capabilities
  • Practical AI/cognitive and machine learning domain knowledge
  • Ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences

Competencies

Application Delivery Process - Knowledge of major tasks, deliverables, and formal application delivery methodologies; ability to utilize these in order to deliver new or enhanced applications.

Application Design, Architecture - Knowledge of application design activities, tools and techniques; ability to utilize these to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.

Application Development Tools - Knowledge of and ability to utilize a variety of specific tools and toolkits for the development and support of applications.

Application Testing - Knowledge of application testing and ability to design, plan and execute application testing strategies and tactics to ensure software quality throughout all stages of application development.

Packaged Application Integration - Knowledge of and the ability to implement packaged application software and integrate it with company applications, databases and technology platforms.

System Development Life Cycle - Knowledge of project management techniques and the ability to plan, design, develop, test, implement and maintain system development life cycle segments and phases.

Technical Troubleshooting - Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques, and the ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems.

Technical Writing/Documentation - Knowledge of the technical language and writing approach, and the ability to write paper-based and on-line technical reference documentation (guidelines, standards, procedures, processes, applications, etc.)

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience. Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
