  • 8 Years or more experience in database design, development, implementation, and support using various Microsoft database technologies, such as: SQL Server, T-SQL in OLTP, OLAP, and data warehousing environments.
  • Expertise in writing and tuning complex SQL scripts including Indexes, Views, Complex stored procedures, CTE appropriate functions, and effective Triggers to facilitate efficient data manipulation and data consistency in MS SQL server.
  • Strong technical knowledge in SQL Server BI suite (ETL, Reporting, Analytics, Dashboard) using SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI or other reporting tools.
  • Strong development skills with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Blob, and Azure Storage Explorer.
  • Strong Azure Data Factory knowledge for deploying SSIS packages using SSIS Integration Runtime, and creating pipelines for CI/CD.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a large workload.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Proven ability to interact with business or product customers, gather requirements, and deliver complete, scalable, and sustainable solutions.
  • Experience mentoring and leading a team of database administration personnel.
  • Being a fully autonomous, self-learning, and self-motivated database administrator.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft-based database technologies and tools.
  • Proven ability to adapt to any database technology as needed.
  • Ability to identify common support incidents quickly and implement permanent resolutions effectively.
  • Ability to lead projects from inception to completion either as an individual contributor or as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with users in both IT and the business.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Filling the role of a database developer and utilizing a toolset listed in the Mandatory Requirements to complete database tasks and projects.
  • Finding opportunities for automation and improvement in existing database environments.
  • Helping The Department of Commerce to improve database development processes and standards.
  • Going above and beyond on all support tasks, by working towards permanent resolutions rather than temporary fixes.
