Stratus Technology Services is seeking a SQL expert to manage the load of our clients robust and growing databases. The focus of this role is to be proactive in triaging problems with performance before they impact production, with BillingCenter and PolicyCenter at the center of this rapid growth. This individual will monitor and identify new production problems that arise from the rapid code development of defects, conversion, SEO, CSRO and R2. Required Skills/Experience:
- Proficient using SQL Server versions 2012 2017.
- Experienced with Windows server versions, such as server 2012 - 2019
- Able to write scripts using PowerShell DBA tools and T-SQL script objects (functions, views, stored procedures) using best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot queries, and other exceptions on the SQL servers and/or Windows servers
- Able to read an execution plan, identify issues, and tune queries
- Able to identify IO bottlenecks
- Able to use SQL profiler
- Ability to ensure SQL settings are optimized for memory, CPU, storage, MAXDOP, and parallelism thresholds.
- Ability to work with multiple teams (developers, testers, server admins, network engineers, security engineers, business analysts and others) to assist in resolving issues, answering questions, and performing scheduled or ad hoc tasks
- Strong understanding of SSIS for ETL operations and tuning SSIS packages
- Strong understanding of database maintenance for index and statistics performance
- Understanding of DMVs to identify issues
- Enforce best practices in coding standards
- Ensure change management is being followed and documented
- Deliver high data quality in all solutions
- Drive to meet deadlines and assist in managing projects
- Right sizing of server resources and storage
- Database migrations
- Backup and restore process to non-production environments, including HA in an AG
- Manage security on the server and database tiers
- Excellent skills using SSMS versions 18 and newer
- Experience with Guidewire and Datahub solutions
- Experience with large databases and tables
- Experience with Data warehouse solutions
- Experience with SQL Sentry
- Experience with Redgate tools
- Compuware data scrubbing tool
