UX Interaction Designer Location: 100% REMOTE Duration: Contract OR Contract to Hire The Vision A mid-size financial institution is seeking a Senior Interaction Designer. In this role, you will be the sweet-spot finder between user needs and business goals. You will have the opportunity to design solutions for customers to manage their financial well-being and for colleagues to build meaningful customer relationships. You love the interaction of design, not just the look.

  • Responsibilities You will oversees the design, development and day to day operations of complex websites and/or digital experiences consisting of many pages (e.g. applications, large websites and complete native mobile apps).
  • You will work with product managers, internal clients, project teams, architecture teams and management to design and improve the online & mobile experiences.
  • You understand the differences and nuances of current online and mobile technologies keeping abreast of all current trends and new technologies.
  • You will deliver unique and innovative designs and experiences across multiple applications, products and payments offerings. Implementing world class user experience that enables long-term vision of UX capabilities based on both product and marketing direction and trends. Will be responsible for creating mockups and prototypes that will be reviewed during usability reviews and sessions.
  • You should possess a solid understanding of web application designs and working knowledge of UX applications, web development technologies, rapid prototyping tools and agile methodologies. You also understand the differences and nuances inherent in the major OSes-IOS, Android, Blackberry, etc and be the visual "go to expert" in these arenas.

Day-to-Day Interaction Designer Role
  • Translates user and business needs into a blueprint of strategic experiences that drive measurable outcomes
  • Gathers design inputs, conducts discovery, and partners with strategists and researchers to address knowledge gaps
  • Leads multiple initiatives in an agile environment from ideation thru implementation
  • Interacts with leaders across the bank to define compelling and industry-leading experiences
  • Designs user flows, IA models, conceptual models, wireframes, and interactive prototypes
  • Leads work product presentations and feedback sessions with stakeholders
  • Communicates design principles and rationale in plain language
  • Collaborates with other designers, product managers, brand managers, IT teams, analytics teams, and digital leadership
  • Learns how people think about their money and how they interact with financial service providers
  • Coached and supported by design leaders invested in your success
  • Basic Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in design, information systems, digital communication, human factors or human-computer interaction, or library sciences
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in designing digital experiences
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience leading/managing large projects or teams is highly desired
    • Portfolio (online or PDF) with interaction design examples
    • Proficiency in UX design tools
    • Experienced with agile software delivery, including outcome-driven design
