Description STAFF ACCOUNTANT - Fully Remote Position - Financial Services Experience Required (Needs to be located in Georgia)We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to support the Senior Staff Accountant and CFO in managing the timely and accurate execution of financial activities. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in assisting with the preparation of financial information for internal and compliance reporting, ensuring smooth day-to-day financial operations.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Oversee Accounts Receivables to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.

Reconcile bank statements on a daily and monthly basis.

Manage cash transfers between accounts to ensure proper liquidity.

Set up, verify, and send wire and ACH transfers as needed.

Manage Notes Payables and maintain the associated amortization schedule.

Reconcile Fixed Asset and Prepaid Accounts.

Reconcile and invoice third-party loan servicing accounts.

Collaborate with Loan Operations to ensure the accurate and coordinated tracking of loan activity within the financial system.

Assist the accounting department with regular financial reporting and audit work, which may include monthly, quarterly, or annual tasks.

Post and manage journal entries within the accounting system as required.

Work with the accounting team to ensure the accuracy of account reconciliations.

Monitor and manage the accounting department’s shared mailbox.

Assist with maintaining both electronic and physical files related to financial activities.

Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Ensure the discreet handling of all business and financial information.

Manage the accounting functions for off-balance sheet servicing relationships and maintain associated documentation.

Assist management with various ad-hoc reports and tasks as required.

Act as a backup for the Junior Staff Accountant when needed.

Answer phone calls, direct client inquiries to the appropriate departments, and maintain detailed logs of calls and interactions.

Attend meetings as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial institution accounting.

Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel is required; experience with Intacct is preferred.

Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office, accounting software, and databases.

Experience with non-profit accounting is a plus.

Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

Ability to manage large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
