Supply Chain Specialist

Description Site Buyer / Inventory CoordinatorPosition Description:The Site Buyer / Inventory Coordinator is responsible for handling daily/weekly/monthly purchasing functions and all related inventory transactions. This position reports directly to the Purchasing Manager, and will work closely with sales and production teams to identify material needs, place purchasing orders with vendors, scheduling freight, and ensure that inventory is kept accurate. This is an hourly, full-time position, M-F, 8am to 4:30pm.Principle Duties & Responsibilities: Daily processing of purchase orders; identifying material needs for all sales orders entered the previous day. Process inter-company transfer orders between plants. Process various weekly and monthly usage reports for all required materials. Place purchase orders as needed to replenish stock. Management of inventory item and material database to ensure accuracy and create new part #’s and bill of materials when necessary. Cross-checking receipt of goods against purchase orders for pricing and quantity accuracy. Assist in quarterly physical inventory counts and perform physical counts of items at any time when discrepancies are found. Correct inventory electronically when discrepancies are found. Assist the sales team with product and costing questions. Develop proficiency in the ERP program within the area of Inventory Management. Follow up with vendors and track ordered materials. Develop an understanding of materials and inventory management.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Extreme attention to detail and strong analytical skill (must be able to identify and address inventory issues). Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
