A Center for Positive Change Columbus Behavioral Center for Children and Adolescents provides mental health services to males and females ages 8 to 18. Located in the greater Columbus, Indiana area, our 56-bed facility provides support to each child and teen that walks through the doors. We work with the resident, family and community partners to promote a smooth transition back into the home or, if necessary, an additional appropriate level of care. The trained professionals at our center provide safe and individualized treatment goals for each patient. Our Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) increases the development of behavioral skills that can help patients build relationships, manage emotions and cope more effectively with various life problems. In addition, our residential treatment program offers a balance of therapy, education and fun activities in a safe, structured setting. We focus on the needs and safety of our patients with 24-hour licensed staff supervision, which includes registered nurses. The National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention (Action Alliance), a public-private partnership, has partnered with Columbus Behavioral Center for Children and Adolescents, to strengthen the country’s clinical capacity to provide innovative suicide prevention and care. The partnership significantly advances one of the central priorities of the Action Alliance—to transform health systems and reduce suicides—and marks Columbus Behavioral Center for Children and Adolescents’ commitment to be at the leading edge of the transformation. About the role: The Milieu Manager is responsible for ensuring quality resident care, observation, and interaction and ensures appropriate programming is followed and timely on all units. As well as, all shift reports, environment of care rounds and patient supervision documentation occurs and is timely. The Milieu Manager is responsible for direct supervision and oversight of facility Mental Health Technicians and Lead Mental Health techs including, hiring and corrective action recommendations. The Milieu Manager will work closely with the Director of Operations/Residential Services in ensuring patient safety and quality patient care. The Milieu Manager must have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with members of all facility departments. The Milieu manager must be available to work different shifts as needed and weekends. Additional duties may be assigned. This is an exempt position. Benefits our employees enjoy:

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

Education: Degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, recreational therapy, or appropriate therapeutic field is required.

Experience: 3+ years of clinical experience in a child/youth long-term care setting required. Knowledge of psychiatric resident care techniques and understanding of mental illness preferred.

Licensure: Must maintain a valid Indiana driver's license.

Additional Requirements: CPR, First Aid certification, and successful completion of HWC within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting in a seclusion/restraint intervention. Nights and weekend work will be required.

Due to our licensure and the age of the clientele we serve, there is an age requirement of 21 years.
