Job Description:

This position is located in Columbus, Ohio but may be eligible for remote home based as long as selected candidate is within AEP's current operating territory (WV, VA, TN, AR, KY, TX, OH, IN, MI, OK, LA)

Working within Waterfall or Agile frameworks, a Business Analyst will work with a variety of disciplined focused team members all working toward a common goal of delivering value with quality and scale. Responsible for collaborating with other Job Families such within Technology and across our business partners to deliver consistent, reliable technology solutions that leverage AEP's technology standards, architectures and best practices. Independently performs advanced business and project analysis for the most complex and largest projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS are listed below: Responsibilities include the following for large projects and/or enterprise programs:

Develop test strategy, test plans, test cases and requirements traceability for a project, product or

portfolio of applications with a focus on identifying opportunities for test automation

Manage and lead the execution of test strategies and plans to complete all agreed testing with the

project team

Coordinate all levels of testing activities (Unit, In-sprint, System Integration, End-To-End and

Performance)

Orchestrate and lead all testing activities across distributed teams (onshore/offshore) and in a shared

test environment

Assist teams in incorporating Continuous Testing solutions into the CI/CD/DevOps pipeline

Identify and escalate risks and issues for the team

Lead the team in risk mitigation and defect root cause analysis

Plan and coordinate development of quality mindset/testing practices within the teams

Prepare test status and metrics reports and provide analysis to guide the completion of test activities.

Communicate with all stakeholders

Ability to lead and coordinate activities of assigned testing team

Required to lead defect management meetings and drive the completion of any required defect fixes

from development teams

Recommend testing enhancements to mature future project testing Forward thinking with understanding of new technologies being used for testing and quality engineering.

Able to articulate the transformation in testing and the move towards digital labor

Experience designing appropriate metrics to drive quality. Must know the difference between metrics types, Process, Product, Project, and Enterprise. Able to provide examples of when and how to use them.

RequirementsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business or related field of study;
  • Or Associate's degree in computer science or related field of study with 2 years of relevant work experience;
  • Or High school diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant work experience.

Experience:
  • In addition to any experience required above, 10 years of relevant work experience is required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong Communication Skills.
  • Strong experience and skills with manual and automated testing
  • Experience in testing tools: JIRA/Xray, Eggplant and Ready API
  • Experience with model based testing and testing lifecycle automation
  • Experience with performance testing a plus
  • Experience leading and managing large testing teams that support multiple workstreams
