Job Duties: Technical Project Manager role requires a results-driven attitude and attention to detail, high emotional intelligence, personal accountability, and communication transparency. This position is expected to program-manage overlapping technical project upgrades including ERP integration. Working in a team-based setting, s/he will ensure business needs are properly translated and scoped. S/he will drive timely project completion by ensuring required project information is gathered, scope is defined and agreed, solutions are brainstormed and harmonized to meet objectives, technical specifications are produced, project plans and schedules align, and the transition to operational project readiness is successful. Position may include some opportunity for remote work initially, with transition to full-time onsite role.

Job Specifications:

  • Oversees each project life-cycle, creates and coordinates high-level plans involving solution scope definition, task structures, resource planning for technical implementation activities, internal testing, and operational readiness schedules, including Jira change-control methods to manage platform transitions and new versions.
  • Accountable for planning, preparing, and managing portfolio of concurrent projects using MS-Project format; executes project plans, and make updates to timelines to comply with changing needs and expectations.
  • Utilizes transparent communications to effectively remove obstacles, explain and resolve any escalated issues, identify options, manage risks, monitor dependencies, and tactfully resolve roadblocks during project life cycles.
  • Collaborates with other project managers during client-facing acceptance testing, delivery and hand-over.
  • Acts as liaison to review 'as-is' processes, document 'to-be' changes, and track updated requirements and agreed methods; conducts post-project lessons learned to identify and document areas for improvement.
  • Suggests corrective measures when problems occur; uses industry best practices to refine quality assurance criteria, manage testing cycles, and track metrics such as percent complete, issues list, defect tracking, etc.
  • Communicates project status and consults with required stakeholders to keep all informed of project progress.
  • Adheres to company policies, follows department procedures and standard practices, and respects guidelines governing privacy, physical security, and information security.
  • Self-starter with ability to balance a sense of urgency against measured thinking and attention to detail.
  • Conducts oneself in a professional manner at all times with broad English communication skills, team player.
  • Willingness to occasionally work beyond regular office hours when needed; limited travel may be required.
  • Displays excellent work habits, including collaborative attitude, punctual attendance, and appropriate dress.
  • Work performed in a light industrial setting; exposure to shop floor noise, and occasionally may lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, reach and move safely around the facilities.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrated project management skills; well-organized, with ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Well-developed negotiation skills and ability to influence diverse groups to successfully build consensus.
  • Mentoring mindset with strong business acumen leading activities involving team-based project environments.
  • Ability to manage full life-cycle technical software-based projects including complex systems and integrations.
  • High level of competency and skills using MS-Office tools including Project, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Visio.
  • Knowledge of Jira tools, SAP ERP supply chain processes, and manufacturing environments is a strong asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Management, or similar area, with 5+ years of relevant experience; or an Associate Degree with 7+ years of experience in a similar role is required.
  • 2+ years of prior experience building/managing project plans and leading complex software implementations.
  • Prior experience involving POS/ATM financial authorization systems, integrated-circuits/smart cards, cryptography, and related payment card industry (PCI-CP) environments is a plus.
