Job Title: Technical Writer

Length: open-ended contract

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Summary:Vernovis is currently supporting one of our public services clients downtown as they grow their team. This client offers a hybrid-onsite schedule and is a highly-collaborative, growth focused culture.They are currently looking to bring in a Technical Writer to work across multiple business units. This resource will have experience documenting technology processes, policies, SOPS, and roadmaps.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with systems administrators, network architects, and engineers to produce and maintain documentation, including: computer, network, and storage architecture diagrams, access architectures, hardware and software inventories.
  • Build and maintain document formats and other resources to ensure others can learn and understand the organization’s technology as efficiently as possible.
  • Learn technical concepts and communicate the information in a way that is engaging and understood by non-technical customers.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders on documentation to improve usability.
  • Act as an editor to ensure consistency and clarity.

Requirements:
  • Strong written and verbal communications and experience working with technical content in multiple mediums.
  • Experience working cross-departmentally to communicate the nuts and bolts of a technology or system.
  • Experience owning an end-to-end documentation creation process.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • A positive attitude, willing to jump in and tackle new challenges.
