Job Description

HII - Mission Technologies is looking for a Technician 3 to provide Engineering Support and join our team of experts to reverse engineer a variety of one-of-a-kind systems. The Technician will work with various Contractor and Government Engineers to assist in System Analysis of various types of systems in support of the NASIC mission.

This position requires a high level of initiative, self-discipline, technical aptitude, professionalism, discretion, and diplomacy. This position is perfect for someone with a desire to be exposed and learn multiple technical disciplines and an opportunity to develop skills in specific mission areas.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.
  • Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
  • Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
  • Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
  • Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Requirements

  • TS/SCI or Secret Clearance preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Most work is performed aboard ships or in industrial conditions. Shop, shipboard, warehouse, industrial environment.
  • May be exposed to fumes and irritants including welding/burning fumes, paints, oils, greases and various cleaning solutions and solvents, noise, high heat and humidity hazards while wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
