MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct all training and development activities to ensure they are carried out efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with the organization's policies and regulations.

Analyze and identify the training and development needs of employees in all areas of the business (including both hourly and salaried)

Serve as a connection with Department Managers/Supervisors to develop and implement training, development and succession plans that are appropriate for their business needs and that are consistent with the overall training strategy.

Design the strategy to develop, implement and maintain the organizational culture (environment, safety, leadership, teamwork, life balance).

Design, develop and implement training plans for employees, including measuring the effectiveness of them; Evaluate ongoing programs to ensure relevance in business processes and employee development

Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business with the highest degree of integrity and discretion.

Maintain relationships with existing workforce development partners (technical schools, community colleges, etc.) and further develop other co-op/internship and apprenticeship opportunities

Use performance reviews and skills gap analyses to identify training needs per department, team, and individual

Participates in working groups, councils, and committees

Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of training professionals.

Support business priorities

Develop strategy that supports the execution of the business based on Mission, Vision and Values

Keep up to date on news and innovations in training and education in the industry so that the training activities of the organization remain relevant.

Select and manage day-to-day relationships with external consultants and training providers.

Support compliance with training audits

Support the development of the leadership group

Comply with corporate and legal requirements

Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTSE d uc a t i o n R e q uir e d :

Bachelor’s degree in OD, Business, Human Resources, Education or related field strongly preferred.

W ork E xp e ri e nce R e q u i r e d :

5+ years of experience in Human Resources, Organizational Development or Training preferred.

5+ years of experience in:

Developing/designing and delivering training programs/curriculum

Demonstrate proficiency in the development of training strategies applying world-class adult learning principles

Experience leading and developing a team of training professionals

S kills & K n o w l e d ge R e q uir e d:

Self-starting, results-oriented individual who is team oriented

Effective organization, time management, and verbal/written communication skills

Advanced computer literacy, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word

Willing to work additional hours to cover off shifts for communication rhythms

Able to handle multiple projects and priorities as well as deal with ambiguity

Demonstrates leadership and people management skills, proven ability to effectively develop, coach, and motivate employees

Ability to prioritize and work well both independently and as part of a team

Demonstrates a strong attention to detail

Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

Strong project planning

Ability to manage groups, facilitate sessions, and presentations

Knowledge about organizational behavior, group dynamics, tools for managing change, intervention strategies, conflict management and problem solving

Ability to analyze in ambiguous or difficult problems

Focused on continuous improvement
