Join an innovative, globally known automotive company as their Unity Expert. Handle frontend and backend Unity HMI modeling and development of infrastructure to create a CAN to ETH interface for a Unity based display and audio HMI system for ADAS functions. Create and modify HMI models in Unity for ADAS functions. Come in with a creative outlook and extensive Unity experience to oversee this project from start to finish. Automotive industry experience is not required for this opportunity so long as you come in with the experience needed to complete the tasks below.Responsibilities: • Work as the sole Unity Expert to handle frontend and backend Unity HMI modeling and infrastructure. • Frontend work will include converting CAN models into Unity models. o There are HMI graphics in the gate cluster, center display, etc. Vehicles you will work on will have ADAS function which includes dynamic representation of the road with traffic objects, hazards and more. These are the types of models you will create, and the sort of input being sent by CAN. • Back-end (infrastructure) development for Unity including developing hardware, software and models required to convert CAN messages for ADAS HMI to inputs for Unity application:o Set up CAN-ETH communication system (using for example PEAK PCAN or Vector VN1610 or some equivalent)• Set up Unity side configuration to receive and integrate ETH input data to HMI model/executable.• Unity based HMI modeling for Automotive ADAS applications. Required Skillset: • Excellent knowledge of Unity Hub/Editor.• Familiarity with C# for scripting in Unity.• Excellent knowledge of CAN-USB adapters such as PCAN, VN1610 etc., and programming interfaces to integrate CAN/USB messages to Unity models.• 2+ years of experience as an embedded software engineer or similar role developing computer software• Good experience with internet protocols: HTTP, TCP/UDP, SSH• Good experience with embedded system protocols: Controller Area Network (CAN), Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), Universal Serial Bus (USB)• Understanding of basic computer networking and configuring a Local-Area Network (LAN)• Familiarity in version control tools (Git, SVN, etc.)Bonus Skillset: • Excellent knowledge of Unity for the development of automotive HMI applications, preferably ADAS HMI.• Knowledge of static typed languages (C, Java, etc.)Duration: 24+ months Location: Raymond, OH (working onsite 3 days/ week starting in July 2022) Type: ContractSubmit resumes to
