OVERVIEWThe Electronic Maintenance Technician III applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems. This candidate has a strong working knowledge and understanding of electric principals. The Electronics Technician III has a deep understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. The Electronics Technician Maintenance III will be responsible for supervising testing, troubleshooting and repair of electronic equipment. In addition, the Electronics Technician will provide subject matter expertise in planning, design, and integration of electronic security systems, coordinate his/her efforts with contractors, and communicate orally and in writing to ensure coordination.

DUTIES
  • Determine locations and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, modify and analyze performance of fixed and transportable transmitters, receivers, transceivers, and related equipment
  • Understand and analyze design documentation and system data to plan and execute installation and maintenance activities
  • Identify installation and maintenance activities and determine execution durations
  • Complete high-quality device and component installation activities and maintenance activities
  • Set up, operate, and maintain audiovisual equipment, LCD portable projection equipment, portable and fixed public-address amplifiers, speakers, and wireless microphones
  • Install, configure, operate, and maintain Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and associated equipment
  • Provide scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
  • Advanced technical knowledge of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment
  • Participate in configuration of servers, workstations, panels and other programmable components
  • Execute testing to verify high quality installations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Air Force Specialty Code 2E173 or an Associate's Degree in Applied Science (AAS) in Electronics Technology and 10 years of equivalent civilian practical experience
  • Active Secret Clearance
