Develop and execute counseling and Match strategy plans annually, utilizing platforms such as Overgrad, Alumni Database, and Counselor Match Tool to monitor progress towards regional goals.Recruit and mentor an Early Decision (ED) cohort of rising seniors, providing guidance on on-campus visits, essay writing, recommendation solicitation, and application submission by early deadlines.Conduct 1:1 counseling sessions with every freshman and junior at least twice per year, offering personalized guidance and support throughout their Match journeys.Meet with every junior family by September 30th (partnering with teachers if needed) and ideally engage with every junior family to provide proactive counseling support.Ensure completion of Junior Milestones, including YouScience assessment in the fall semester, wishlist development, and personal statement drafting in the spring semester.Facilitate Freshman Milestones, ensuring freshmen start strong with a strong GPA and academic profile.Lead bi-monthly counseling team meetings with the director to analyze Match and counseling data and develop actionable plans.Attend quarterly calls with the Director of College & Career Counseling at KIPP Foundation to align regional efforts with national initiatives.Participate in monthly Match Matters meetings with school leadership, including the principal, principal manager, ED/CEO (as available), director, and teacher.Engage in monthly coaching calls with a designated coach from the KIPP Foundation to troubleshoot challenges, track progress toward goals, and implement best practices in counseling.Facilitate the development of student academic schedules to promote timely progression towards graduation goals.Collaborate with the high school leadership team to integrate counseling and Match strategies with broader school priorities and initiatives.Manage the credit recovery process by overseeing student enrollment in appropriate classes and updating student transcripts in PowerSchool to accurately reflect completed coursework and credits.Organize and manage college visits for all grade levels, coordinating schedules, logistics, and student participation to provide valuable exposure to postsecondary institutions.Maintain updated graduation checklists for every student, ensuring alignment with individual academic plans and requirements to facilitate timely progress toward graduation and postsecondary goals.Teach and execute the CKCS curriculum to juniors and ensure high-quality delivery and compliance with the KIPP Foundation program requirements (scope-and-sequence submission, lesson internalization and execution, data collection, etc.)Have a growth mindset, be receptive to feedback, and do whatever it takes to make the impossible, possible.
