Surpass state of the art for metrics such as compute, bandwidth, and power consumption
Work across disciplines, brainstorm big ideas, build new methodologies, juggle/coordinate multiple initiatives, drive a concept into a prototype, and ultimately guide the transition into a high-volume consumer product
Understand the tradeoffs between general purpose and custom compute mechanisms, be able to model data-flows, and create detailed cost/benefit analysis
Confer with engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system
Guide a small team of other architects and designers in undertaking power analysis, modeling, and projections
Produce models matching the proposed ASIC implementation, and produce detailed tradeoff analyses for executive review and product roadmap decisions
Build, test, and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation
Select hardware and material, assuring compliance with specifications and product requirements
Test and verify hardware and support peripherals to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements, by recording and analyzing test data
Work on running power simulation and analyzing results and guiding design team in power optimization
Work on post silicon model to hardware correlation
Telecommute from anywhere in the U.S. permitted (remote work benefit)
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field and 36 months of work experience in job offered, or in a hardware engineering-related occupation. Experience must include 12 months of experience in the following:
Programming languages: C, C, Python, Perl, TCL, or Visual Basic
Hardware Description Languages: Verilog
CAD tools: PrimeTime PX, PrimeTime, Library Compiler, ICC, Design Compiler, Power Artist, JMP, Matlab, ClearCase/Clear Quest, or JIRA
VLSI Design, Microarchitecture, Statistical modeling, Data Structures
Linux or Unix OS
Power Analysis
Low Power Design
Power Modeling using Microsoft Excel Computation
Hardware Power Measurement
