Welder/Fabricator

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a Welder. The ideal candidate for this position has prior welding experience and is mechanically inclined. The right person will have experience with metal fabrication.Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:Assembles key components to existing vehicles, at assigned workstations, performing any combination of following tasks according to specifications and using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and production fixtures.Read and interpret specifications.Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirementsSet up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be weldedAlign components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp piecesWeld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gapsTest and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flawsMaintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safetyExperience with installing crash attenuator assemblies onto existing frames/chassis a plus.Mechanically inclined, experience with using floor jacks, Oil change, filter change, fluid change and tire change.
