BI Reporting Analyst - SQL, Tableau 12 months contract in Portland, Oregon.

Prefer local candidates to Portland, Oregon.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive the creation of interactive and user-friendly analytical tools that enable fact-based decision-making processes and associated actions.
  • Develop and maintain business KPIs, analyze data, identify root causes and present findings and recommendations to drive business decisions.
  • Identify gaps in end-to-end performance and use data to measure continuous improvement efforts. Partner and collaborate with key stakeholders on intake requests.
  • Build knowledge to be a resident authority on the data infrastructure within the organization. Challenge the status quo, identify process improvement opportunities, and effectively translate marketplace needs into new tools for planning.
  • Support the business by developing interactive and user-friendly data visualizations for both strategic and tactical consumption.
  • Clearly define project timelines and scope; communicate proactively and strategically and provide training to end-users as needed.
  • Effectively manage development projects to completion. Identify and proactively manage stakeholders that have influence and/or are impacted by your projects.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field (an additional three years of relevant professional experience in lieu of one of the degrees).
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in business intelligence, data visualization, and analytic applications, to include Excel and Tableau.
  • Advanced proficiency in enterprise data management, possessing relevant skills in data stewardship, extraction, ingestion, integration, and analysis.
  • Proficiency in commonly used programming languages, to include but not limited to SQL and Python.
  • Proficiency in data stitching and preparation programs, to include Alteryx and Tableau Prep.
  • Consistent record delivering data visualizations, analytic applications, and dashboards that drive business decisions and lead to organizational change.
  • Consistent record developing data solutions and KPIs that relate to organizational performance, measure ROI, and drive business efficiencies.
  • Strength in strategic problem solving and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strength in cross-functional teams in a dynamic business environment.
  • Great listening skills and openness to different points of view.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent project and program management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Self-starter, eager to learn, result-oriented and creative thinker.
