Basic Function

The Network Engineer researches, develops, and delivers Network as a Service (NaaS) and Security as a Service (SECaaS) products to the automotive market. Incorporates a detailed understanding of internal and industry solutions to analyze business requirements and functional specifications to inform organizational strategy. Meets with stakeholders to determine network/system requirements. Performs gap analysis and documents findings. Provides technical leadership & direction in project planning, cost analysis & vendor comparison. Designs, supports, and troubleshoots moderately complex network & computer systems in close coordination with vendors and internal CDK teams. Mentors others and fosters collaboration and innovation.

Essential Functions

1. Research, Design, Test, Pilot, Release & Support LAN/WAN/Cloud network and security solutions including, but not limited to: Router, SDWAN, Remote Access Client VPN, Advanced Firewall, Web Security Gateway, Switch, Wi-Fi, SIEM, and Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM).2. Technical Expert on assigned CDK products and underlying industry technologies. 3. Publishes supporting documentation such as sales design guides, installation guides, and support guides.4. Designs wireframes used by developers to create utilities used during product installation, support, and maintenance teams to drive consistency and accuracy.5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Communicates effectively with vendors, partners, clients and cross-functional teams regarding the implementation and maintenance of technologies.6. Develops scalable designs, solutions, standards, and processes used during all phases of the product lifecycle.7. Primarily works within a multidisciplined SCRUM value stream team comprised of engineering, development, install, support, and maintenance personnel to deliver new and/or enhanced product value on a consistent basis. 8. Assists management with product strategy and roadmap planning. Participates in quarterly feature planning.9. Troubleshoots complex server, storage, and networking problems. 10. Attends training courses as required and stay abreast of evolving internal processes and industry developments.11. Provides other ad hoc support and duties as assigned.USA and Canada Requirements

1. BS Degree in Electronics/Communication/Electrical or Computer Science or equivalent experience, or related field with at least 8 years of networking experience.2. Certifications such as CISSP, CCNP, GIAC Certs, MCSE, or comparable certification required. 3. Extensive experience with Cisco Router, Cisco Switch, and Windows Domain Integration including policy implementation and capacity management. 4. Advance knowledge of protocols such as ARP, BGP/EIGRP/OSPF, DHCP, DMVPN, DNS, GRE, HSRP, HTTP(S), ICMP, IP, IPSEC/IKE, IP SLA, NAT, PKI, RADIUS, SAML, (S)FTP, SIP, SNMP, SSH, STP, TCP/UDP, TACACS+, TFTP, TLS/SSL, VRRP, etc. 5. Strong understanding of capacity planning, QoS, and intelligent/optimal path selection methodologies.6. Ability to manage mission critical, highly visible infrastructure projects to completion. 7. Ability to design components for scale, performance, and experience.8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Communicates effectively with vendors, partners, clients and cross-functional teams regarding the implementation and maintenance of technologies.9. Proven capability and desire to diligently deliver high quality work, as an individual or part of a team, to agreed specifications and timelines.10. Collaborative problem-solving ability, self-motivated and engages in team discussions.11. Strong ethics, integrity, attention to detail, and self-motivation to succeed against challenges.12. Strong influencing skills; strong verbal and written communication skills.Preferred Skills

1. Demonstrated experience designing, configuring and deploying Cisco Routers/Switches within an enterprise-level information technology program; Experience managing vendors and service providers and performing oversight for the delivery of program features; Technical knowledge of service provider programs, concepts, processes, trends, and best practices; Demonstrated knowledge of Enterprise Network engineering, infrastructure administration, and rule/content development. 2. Experience with Aruba SDWAN, Aruba Switch, VeloCloud SDWAN, and Meraki products. 3. Experience working with Cisco DNA and Cisco Smart Licensing. 4. Knowledge, understanding, and significant experience writing regex and scripts (e.g. Python, Shell, PowerShell).5. Passionate drive for cyber-security, with active interest and knowledge of current trends and emergent threats.6. Familiarity, understanding and demonstration of the attacker-mind-set and anatomy-of-a-hack.7. Experience integrating Active Directory with networking products.8. Experience with AWS or Azure cloud environments and solutions.
