Description:Phlebotomist - Patient Service Center - Providence Seaside Hospital - 1.0 FTE, VariableWe are seeking a Phlebotomist - Patient Service Center who will be responsible for the accurate and timely pre-analytical functions of patient identification, blood and body fluid specimen collection and specimen labeling. The phlebotomist will provide support to multiple regional laboratory personnel and will be integral in maintaining the integrity of patient specimens in order to provide accurate and timely patient care. This high-visibility position requires excellent communication, Service Excellence, and good judgment that meets or exceeds the expectations of patients, visitors, physicians and Providence Health System staff. The incumbent must possess astute attention to detail in accurately identifying patients, appropriate specimen collection tools and preserving the integrity of the specimen.Qualifications:Required qualifications:Successful completion of a nationally accredited phlebotomy or medical assistant training program

Demonstrate experience with State and Federal and other regulatory Compliance regulations including Medicare Secondary Payor (MSP), EMTALA, ABN, HIPPA.

One (1) year phlebotomy related experience AND Certification / Registry (PBT, etc.) from a government agency or nationally recognized organization (e.g. ASCP, NCA)

Preferred qualifications:Certification -OR- Registry (PBT, etc.) from a government agency or nationally recognized organization (eg. ASCP, NCA)

Previous registrar experience

Three (3) years phlebotomy related experience. Certification or Registry (PBT, etc.) from a government agency -OR- nationally recognized organization (e.g. ASCP, NCA)
