Your work will have real-world impact, and you’ll be supported in achieving your career goals.Job DescriptionThe Product Manager will provide leadership and execution for products in our genomics Sample Preparation business, with a focus on plasmid purification and DNA cleanup. She or he will be responsible for development of product strategy, product definition, positioning, and product lifecycle management.Responsibilities include:Managing sample preparation reagents products and leading commercialization and/or product development activities to deliver revenue objectives and key strategic market position in clinical testing markets.

Managing worldwide supply, demand, revenue, margin and pricing for product portfolio; updating and presenting forecasts regularly to management, finance, and manufacturing teams.

Analyzing market trends, customer requirements and competitive strategy, and identifying opportunities for increasing customer and business value through product positioning and differentiation.

Partnering with finance and analytics team to create scenario-based financial models and forecasts to inform market strategy and prioritize activities

Developing and presenting compelling training materials for sales teams, technical support and field application scientists

Providing up-to-date product content/information and supporting field and key customer inquiries in a proactive manner

Working effectively across different geographies and time zones

Nature and Scope:This position interacts with varying levels of internal and external personnel and will require direct customer communication, public presentation, and a team-focused approach. Strong business and customer focus are essential. Effectiveness in this role requires the ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing product development and marketing plans, and a general knowledge of operating plans as well as industry practices for developing, promoting and selling similar products. The Product Manager must exercise judgment for obtaining results, and is able to synthesize a decisive path forward based on all available information. Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others and conduct presentations of technical information.Up to 20% Travel (international and domestic) is required.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in science, marketing or business management.

3-5 years’ experience in Product Management or Marketing

Experience with life science and/or molecular diagnostics systems comprising instrument, software and consumables

Experience with financial modeling and data analysis skills. Ability to forecast and track results.

Proven project management and organizational skills. Strong ability to prioritize effectively.

Exceptional problem solving and interpersonal skills with the ability to gain consensus and facilitate decision making within a matrix environment

Track record of presenting high-level information to multiple audiences, including scientists, executives and non-scientific personnel.

Position may require Covid-19 vaccination and/or routine testing, per client discretion. As a requirement to be onsite at Thermo Fisher Scientific this position requires vaccination status disclosure upon employment.

Preferred QualificationsPh.D in life sciences

Experience with genomics life sciences products is preferred

Is customer-centric and keenly aware of markets, trends and competitors

Is authentic, transparent and leads by example, holding self and others accountable

Demonstrates a sense of urgency, contagious optimism and a “can do” attitude
